Kenneth E. Gardner, M.D.Assistant Professor Phone: 501-526-7100 E-mail: KEGardner@uams.edu Dr. Gardner joined the Dept. of Radiation Oncology on October 1, 2007. Dr. Gardner attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He graduated with an M.D. from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine in 1982. After completing a one year flexible internship at St. Vincent in 1983 he went to the University of Florida Division of Radiation Therapy in Gainesville, Florida from 1983 to 1986 to complete a radiation oncology residency. Dr. Gardner became board certified through the American Board of Radiology on June 11, 1987. For the next couple of years Dr. Gardner was Medical Director of Northwest Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute (NARTI) and had an academic appointment in the Department of Radiology at UAMS. Then he was in private practice in and around Sarosota, Florida for five years. In 1994 he returned to Arkansas to become Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at Hembree Mercy Cancer Center in Fort Smith until May, 2006. He was also on staff at St. Edwards Mercy Medical Medical Center until September, 2007 including Chief of Oncology at St. Edwards Mercy Medical Center from 1999-2004. Dr. Gardner’s clinical interests include: breast cancer, prostate brachytherapy, head and neck cancer, and a new interest in radiosurgery (Gamma Knife and Linac-based). |
