Ivaylo Mihaylov, Ph.D.Assistant Professor Phone: 501-526-5929 E-mail: IBMihaylov@uams.edu Dr. Mihaylov joined UAMS in June 2006 from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, where he worked as a postdoctoral associate for two and a half years. His postdoctoral research was focused on dosimetric accuracy of IMRT dose calculations, dose prediction uncertainties resulting from the IMRT modulation, and IMRT optimization convergence. He participated in the development of a novel Monte Carlo based software simulating particle transport through different beam modulating devices. Dr. Mihaylov received his Ph.D. in theoretical Astrophysics in December, 2003 from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. His thesis work was focused on Monte Carlo applications in radiation transport, nonlinear modeling, and statistical uncertainty estimation. Dr. Mihaylov’s research interests also include 4D radiation therapy, gating (accounting for intra-fraction tumor motion), and IGART. |
